Hello, World. We’re Abroad & Away.

Let us introduce ourselves.

Abroad & Away is a boutique content and brand strategy studio for luxury travel and hospitality. And we’re Hannah and Zoe, the duo behind it.

We met when we were brought on as the two-person team responsible for shaping the Aman at Sea digital experience from launch. Together, we built the written foundation across content architecture, brand positioning guidelines, tone-of-voice frameworks, UX copy, brand style guides, and suite and space descriptions. Language wasn’t layered on afterward; it was integral to how the brand was defined and experienced from day one.

From there, we worked together on destination, experience, and guest-facing communications for The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection, including shore excursions, onboard experiences, and the email narratives that shape how journeys are understood long before guests step onboard.

Before travel, we were lifestyle magazine editors. That editorial background still governs how we work: strong structure, disciplined language, and a refusal to write anything we wouldn’t want to read ourselves. Hannah wrote travel editorials for Elle and Condé Nast Traveler, and we both wrote for lifestyle publications where substance mattered, and every word had to work hard. We bring that mindset to our corporate work, where clarity and credibility matter more than volume or flourish.

Alongside travel, we’ve worked with major cruise and hospitality brands—including Royal Caribbean Group, Crystal, and Silversea—and across global consumer brands from Amazon to Zumba. Based in both Miami and Monaco, we’ve watched the industry evolve from traditional cruise models to hotel-branded luxury yachts and residential ships, and we sit on the inside of that shift rather than observing it from the sidelines.

That perspective allows us to create intelligent, knowledgeable content that doesn’t read like branded marketing copy. We understand how consumer journeys actually unfold—across emails, websites, itineraries, onboard materials, and experiences such as shore excursions—and how every touchpoint either builds trust or quietly undermines it.

We created Abroad & Away to make that level of content accessible to maritime, travel, and hospitality businesses of all sizes. Being small can be mighty; being established brings reach. In both cases, consumer journeys and user experiences should read—and be experienced—as elite and unique.

As Anthony Bourdain once said, “I won’t eat in a restaurant with filthy bathrooms. This isn’t a hard call… just imagine what their refrigeration and workspaces look like.” We believe the same is true of content. What a brand chooses to show—and how carefully it’s maintained—signals authority and quality long before a guest ever steps into a restaurant, onto a ship, joins a shore excursion, or through a hotel or stateroom door.

Abroad & Away exists to make travel and hospitality content clearer, smarter, and more effective. Written by humans. Edited like a magazine. Built for brands that care about how their product or experience is understood, not just how it’s sold.
